Detailed list of Upcoming Events
- ·
Family Camp Planning Meeting – We will make our
final plans for Family Camp Weekend, May 4-6 at Kiwanis Scout Camp near Marine
on the St. Croix. There is a list of
those who are currently signed up for Family Camp at the bottom of this
email. Anyone still interested in
signing up for Weekend Camping at $20/person or the Saturday Day-Camp option at
$15/person, please reply to this email with the names of those you want to sign
up and how you wish to pay. We will be
signing up participating parents for Meal Cooking and Cleanup duties at that
meeting. Those in attendance will have
the first choice. Every participating
parent will be asked to Cook or Cleanup for 1 meal that weekend.
- ·
Pack Table at the Kindergarten Info Night on
April 26th – Michelle Anderson will be handing out Pack Brochures
and answering questions about the Lion program for parents of incoming
Kindergarten Boys. If you are planning
to stop by that event with your Pre-Schooler, please stop by and help her
out. We are NOT signing anyone up. We are giving info and collecting contact
info to reach out to families in the fall.
- ·
Scouting for Food will start out at 9am at the
Hugo Legion. We will split up into
groups along with the Troop and work through a few key Hugo neighborhoods
collecting Food and Cash Donations for the Hugo Good Neighbor’s Food
Shelf. Around 11:30, we will meet up in
Lions Park for check-in and a Pizza lunch and some games. Please join us for a great service project
and a good experience working as a combined Pack and Troop.
- ·
Family Camping Weekend – May 4-6. We will have Den, Pack and Troop activities
planned, including Archery, Hiking, Bouldering and Games. Webelos and Bears will work with the Troop
all day Saturday and we will have a combined Dinner and Campfire on Saturday
night. This is one of the best weekends of the year for our Pack. With overnight and day-only options available
and a reasonable cost, you don’t want to miss out on this weekend. You can still sign up. Please reply to this email or contact your
Den Leaders to get signed up.
- ·
May 10th Parent/Leader Pack Committee
Meeting – This is the 1st of 2 Planning meetings in May. We will
make final plans for the May Pack meeting as well as put together a plan for
Summer Pack events and set dates for Pack events next Fall & Winter. Please join us to provide you input on what
we should improve next year and what New Activities we should try to plan. We will start at 7pm in the Hugo Legion Hall.
Bring your kids with a quiet activity if you need to.
- ·
End of the Year Picnic Pack Meeting on May 21st. We are putting together another Taco potluck
dinner and will have some end of the year awards and a ceremony to transition
each Den to the next Rank Group, including Lions.
- ·
May 24th Parent/Leader Pack Committee
Meeting – This is the 2nd of 2 Planning meetings in May. We will finalize plans for Hugo Good Neighbor
Days weekend and develop a preliminary budget and schedule for the Summer, Fall
and Winter to submit to Council. Again,
please join us if you are able.
- ·
Good Neighbor Days Parade, June 9th – We will
gather around 8:30am in the area of the Parade to Decorate a Trailer and take
part in the Parade. We will be handing
out flyers to promote the Pancake Breakfast the next morning as well as promote
the Pack in general.
- ·
Good Neighbor Days Pancake Breakfast, June 10th
– We will need a group of Scouts to help clean up Lion’s Pack that morning, as
well as a group to help parents run the Breakfast from 8-11am. This is a fundraiser for the Pack and allows
us to budget major purchases like our Pinewood Track upgrade last year. Please plan to volunteer for 2 hours that
morning.
- ·
Summer Resident Camp – Denise has covered this
in her emails. This is a reminder that
we need those interested to get signed up very quickly.
- ·
Summer Pack Activities – More info to come. If you want a say in what we do and when,
please join us at the planning meetings on May 10th and 24th.
Whew! Thank you for
you participation in Scouting. We look
forward to seeing you at these fun and important events coming up.
