H
ello, Pack Parents!  First, I want to thank those parents and scouts who joined us on Saturday at the Scouting for Food service day.  It was great to see Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts working together.  We outdid last year’s effort and collected over 1500lbs. of food and hundreds in cash donations for the Hugo Food Shelf!  They are still sorting through everything, today.  Excellent work, everyone.  Thank you to those who hung flyers around your neighborhoods and thank you to Chris and Mark Grygar at Savoy’s for the great Pizza they supplied for lunch.

On to the purpose of this email.  This is your last call to participate in this weekend’s Family Camp.  We can still take a few more overnight cabin campers at $20/person and you can still sign up for the Saturday Day camp option at $15/person through tomorrow at Noon.  Currently, the weather forecast on Saturday is for a high around 70 with a slight chance of rain in the morning.  Between the proximity to home, the reasonable cost and the weather, there’s no excuse for not taking part in our Family Camp.  Those attending this weekend, please keep reading and check out the attachments for more information.

In other news, the Council’s Summer Camping registration has been extended to May 15th.  If you have not signed up for the resident camp or the Tiger Day camp, sign up soon.  Most of our Pack is attending over the July 27th weekend.

For those attending this weekend, here is the list of what to bring and the meals that we have planned:

Camping Supply List:

Personal items – toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, bug repellant with Deet, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, and any other personal items or medications needed.  Warning:  This Spring and Summer is predicted to be especially bad for Ticks.  Make sure your repellent is good for Ticks.

Long fork or roasting sticks – for cooking hot dogs & roasting marshmallows

Optional: Personal First Aid Kit, backpack, GPS for Geocaching, snacks and other food, camera, playing cards, Frisbees and other outside games, pocket knife (Bear rank and above only – must have whitling chip card), mess kit (bowl/plate/cup) and silverware are optional – we will be using paper plates, but you can use a mess kit if you would like.
