Hello, Pack Parents.  We have an early Summer Update, here.  We have a busy weekend coming up right on the heals of the School year ending and then we have 1 Pack Outing planned for each month of the Summer.

Good Neighbor Days Weekend
We’ll start out on Saturday Morning, June 9th for the Good Neighbor Days Parade, meeting at Mike Fish’s home at 6193 152nd St. N. at 10am. Scouts should be in their Class A uniform complete with Denim Pants/Shorts or Scout Pants and dressed for walking in the weather.  Lions should wear their Lion T-Shirts.  Parents joining us on the Parade Route can wear their Scout Uniforms or Dress for the Parade Theme of “Go Hawaiian”.  We will decorate our Parade Float and pass out Freeze Pops and Pancake Breakfast Promo Cards to the Crowd as we walk along the parade route beginning at 11am.  Parents who won’t be joining us on the parade can meet us at the end of the route to pick up their families.  Otherwise, we’ll circle back to the Fish’s home once we’re done around 3pm.

Sunday Morning, June 10th is our Lions Park Cleanup Service Project and Pancake Breakfast from 8-11.  The Hugo Lions Club pay the Pack to pick up litter that Sunday Morning and the more help we have, the easier it is.  Plus, we only do the Pancake Breakfast every other year, so we want to take advantage and earn some extra money to invest in Pack Equipment.  Parents will be running the kitchen while Scouts will be offering 2nd helpings and cleaning up after our guests.  We’ve attached a flyer to this email that we would like you to forward on to your family and friends with details on the Breakfast.  Scouts are again required to wear their Class A uniforms and Lion T-Shirts to make a good impression on our guests. We have 2 scheduling choices for Pack Families that morning:
  • Join us at 7am for Park Cleanup and the Breakfast setup shift until 9:30 (when you can have some breakfast yourselves)
  • Join us at 7am for Park Cleanup and then eat breakfast before joining in at 9:30 for the 2nd half of our service and cleanup.
Either way, the Lions kick us out promptly at 11am, so everyone is done by then.  Please plan to help out at some point that morning.

July Pack Outing

On July 21st, we will have a Nature Hike and Campfire at Rotary Park in White Bear Lake.  We will plan to gather at 6:30 pm for some games and a Nature Hike around the park.  We’ll then have a campfire with Smore's around 8pm.  Scouts can wear their Class B T-Shirts and families are encouraged to join us. Bring some chairs for your family members and some Insect Repellent.

August Pack Outing
On August 4th, we will take a walking tour of the Fish Hatchery in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin at 10am.  We will then have a Picnic Lunch at the nearby Interstate Park and take a short hike to see some sights.  Class B T-Shirts are again the uniform of the day and Families are asked to bring their own Bag Lunch along with their own beverages.

Fall Pack Kickoff
Please mark your calenders for our September Pack meeting and Fall Fundraising Kickoff on Thursday, September 20th at 6:30 in the Legion Hall.  Also, please keep your schedules clear enough that weekend (22nd & 23rd) to take part in at least one of our Popcorn Selling Storefront Locations.  The first weekend is our best time to sell and we want to be in as many locations as possible.  Locations are still being lined up, but we have Festival Foods & Sam’s Club reserved already.

Thank you for helping make it a great Scouting Year.  We look forward to a great summer!
